I was fortunate enough to attend the UnitedHealthcare (UHC) 2017 Product Rollout meeting a couple weeks ago in Phoenix, AZ. We learned about so many things, but one topic that I found extremely valuable is National Medicare Education Week! UnitedHealthcare created this week to help empower people to make informed, confident decisions about their Medicare coverage. With more than 56 million Americans enrolled in Medicare, the number of people in need of clear information about Medicare is growing.
National Medicare Education Week is being recognized for the fifth time this year. It is designed to begin one month before the start of Medicare’s Annual Open Enrollment Period (Oct. 15-Dec. 7) and offers educational events and resources to baby boomers, Medicare beneficiaries, their families and caregivers.
Did you know?
One in five Medicare beneficiaries describes Medicare as confusing.
Most can’t identify what Medicare Parts A, B, C and D cover.
That’s what we learned from the Medicare Made Clear Index, a 2013 survey of 1,000 older adults. And this is the reason why UHC created National Medicare Education Week.
These clients need you! They need us! The agent population is not going anywhere because we are the consumer’s advocate, their teacher, their specialist, their consultant, their advisor……Keep in touch with your clients and educate them about Medicare.
